The
whole idea of Devil Square is incredibly simple - Kill, slash and
butcher your way to victory! You have to survive over packed
hordes
of monsters spawning all around you at terrifying speed and slaughter
them to win this event. On top of the experience harvested from the
monster killing, you will also be rewarded with bonus experience if you
complete this event for MU Online servers.
How
do You Enter Devil Square?
Firstly,
obtain a Devil Square Invitation using the Chaos Machine in Noria:
Devil's
Key & Devil's Eye has to be the same type (e.g. Key +5 must be
combined with Eye +5). The success rate for creating your Devil Square
Invitation depends on the Devil Square level.

it's time for Devil Square, warp to Noria and talk to the NPC Charon (172,104) to
enter the event.
How You
Can Win Devil Square
The
basic idea of Devil Square is painfully simple - Kill and survive the
monsters to win! More specifically, you have to face the onslaught of
demons until the boss monsters appear. Wiping out the boss monsters
will grant you victory of Devil Square. You can also complete this
event for MU Online servers simply by staying alive for a prolonged
duration.
To make
matters
worse, the monster will only get progressively harder as the Devil
Square event wears on. To show you exactly what I mean, I have included
the order of spawning for monsters in Devil Square 6:
1. Keep a Few Boss
Monsters Alive to Prolong the Event for More Experience
If
you are hungry for every drop of experience, then spare one or two boss
monsters first and finish off the rest of their weaker minions. Kill
them off once you have swept Devil Square clean to close the event for
bonus experience.
However, achieving that is definitely not
child's play. For starters, the monster spawn rates are incredibly fast
and you will find yourself swimming against waves of hostile foes.
If
your character happens to be empowered with wide area damage spells
(DW, Energy MG or Command DL), this is your lucky day. Against the
heavy congestion of hostile mobs, you will be dealing more damage than
a death god.
2. Pay Extra
Attention to Your Life if You Use Wide Area Damage Spells and Imps
If
you are using wide area damage spells coupled with imps, pay very close
attention to your life as the massive hordes of monsters will drain
your life like an open tap. Even your wings will soak up your health
points like a sponge on steroids.
Even if you can endure the
monster damage comfortably, it always helps to have a few healing
potions handy due to the life draining effects of the wings and imps.
If there is an Energy Elf in your party, let her know that you are
especially vulnerable and ask her to focus her healing on you.
3. Have Problems
Keeping Yourself Alive? Retreat to a Corner of Devil Square
Are
you facing serious problems surviving the massive swarms of monsters?
Retreat to one of the corners of Devil Square. This strategy is
extremely effective for characters with limited ranged damage such as
AEs and Strength MGs as you will still be dealing full damage while
absorbing blows from two sides instead of all four.
On the
other hand, if your character has wide area spells (DK, Energy MG,
Command DL), place yourself right in the middle of all the mobs to dish
out maximum damage. This is of course given that you are to do that and
survive at the same time.
4. Choose the Less
Crowded MU Online Servers if You Want to Solo
If
you want the place to yourself for Devil
Square, always
choose the less populated PvP MU Online servers. If you see players
crowding around Charon just before Devil Square, quickly switch servers
if there is still time. You will also be able to enjoy more drops as
soloing means not having to share your bounty.
Which
Devil Square Level do You Fight in?
The
Devil Square difficulty your character has to face depends largely on
your character level and type. The level requirements of Magic
Gladiators & Dark Lords will be about 20 levels lower than that
of
Dark Knights, Dark Wizards & Elfs for MU Online servers.

How
Much Experience do You Gain from Devil Square?
The
experience you can earn can vary wildly depending on the number of
monsters killed by you and if you are able to slay the boss monsters
and complete the event for bonus experience points.
Crucial Tip:
During days with experience boost for MU Online servers, the bonus
experience also applies for Devil Square! Be sure to join Devil Square
as often as you can for supersonic leveling. Now you know why Devil
Square invitations are ridculously overpriced during those
times.
If
you are too lazy to go for Devil Square, remember to save your Devil
Square invitations for days with experience boost for MU Online servers.
